The Portneuf Greenway

Safe, Paved & Accessible
The Portneuf Greenway is a predominantly paved trail system that runs throughout the city of Pocatello and portions of the surrounding area. This system stands out as unique from most greenways because it is, and has always been, built and maintained by (primarily) private donations of sponsors and volunteers! Championed by hard-working people who love and support this community, the Portneuf Greenway is ever-expanding in length, access, beauty and use by locals and visitors alike.
As of 2025 the trails system includes 18+ miles of walking and biking paths along the river, bench areas, and in town. Trails are open to runners and walkers, as well as bikers who are courteous to others on the trails. The Greenway provides a place to ride bikes, hike, walk, jog, rollerblader, and for physically challenged people to exercise and experience the natural beauty of Pocatello Idaho. This trail system and its history are a truly well-earned points of pride in this community. We hope you’ll get outside and enjoy this wonderful attraction!
