Wintertime is PLAY TIME!
During winter, locals can be found alpine skiing, snowboarding and throwing park tricks at Pebble Creek Ski Area, just southeast of Pocatello. Outdoor sports such as cross-country skiing and snowshoeing are also available at the Mink Creek Nordic Ski Center, just south of Pocatello. The Nordic Center is run by the city Parks Dept and is one of Pocatello’s best-kept secrets for winter fun. The Nordic Center has a set of rental yurts, a huge variety of well-groomed trails for beginner, intermediate & advanced cross-country skiers, and they even do lessons and rentals! Pocatello also grooms trails on some of the city golf courses when the snow gets deep!
