Ross Park Area

This place has got it all!
Start by seeing the old freight train parked by the new Pickleball courts, lets the kids try the skate park, and then grab some to-go food at the locally-famous Ross park Drive-inn and enjoy a picnic lunch at our huge park. Wait 30 minutes after eating and take the family for a swim an slide at the newly-improved Ross Park Aquatic complex. There’s a new pickleball court, and a band shell where you’ll frequently see bands playing (free to the public) right by the entrance to the zoo. At upper Ross park, there is a popular Disk Golf course, huge cliff-faces where professional and novice climbers hone their skills. Also the Bannock County Historical Museum and Fort Hall Replica are a fascinating historical feature of Pocatello and Bannock County.

With 3 course in the Pocatello city limits, 1 course just outside Pocatello (at the Mink Creek Recreation Area) and 2 courses in the nearby communities of Lava Hot springs and American Falls. Our local Disk Golf courses are as beautiful as they are challenging. Come and give it a toss.

Chubbuck, Idaho is a fast-growing community exceeding a population of 15,000 in 2023 with gorgeous Parks, the excellent live-drama dinner theater at the Palace playhouse, the locally-famous Geronimo’s trampoline park, Restaurants, softball, and much more. One of the only Zoos in the USA that specializes in Native species! Come hang out with Shoni the Bear in an amazing up-close-and-personal viewing station. There are stroller rentals, special rates for private groups, even a free day at the zoo every May 31st. Zoo Idaho schedules fun events throughout the year – plus there are various discounts for special groups, so check out the website for updated info.

Check out our Neon sign walk, historic building walk, Saturday farmer’s Markets, and 1st Friday Artwalk & music events. Originally developed with narrow streets because it was thought to be the most prime development property of the day – you’ll find a wonderful collection of historic buildings, unique shops, eclectic dining, breweries, and fun. Plus, Downtown Pocatello now featured the new Lookout Point Park (adjacent to Simplot Park) with fountains, bandshell, art and an open and modern gathering place with music, food, art, and family-friendly events all summer long!
